近日，美國等個別西方國家的政客頻頻加戲，宣布「不派官員出席」北京冬奧會，引得西方媒體也跟風炒作。
12月10日，BBC中文網以此為主題，發布了一段北京市民的街采視頻，視頻目前有超十萬觀看量並引起海外讀者大量關注。
視頻以北京市民韓先生採訪內容作為開頭。「運動員訓練了多少年，他（指美國官員）隨隨便便就不參加了，說明美國政府小肚雞腸，中國的偉大它永遠抵制不了。」 韓先生在接受採訪時說。
"While athletes trained for the Olympics for many years, American politicians just willfully say they won't come, which simply shows how narrow-minded they are. The greatness of China is something they can never boycott."隨後BBC在製作的視頻內介紹了新聞背景，並提出採訪問題：「冬奧會舉辦地北京的市民，對此又有什麼看法呢？」
接着BBC接連播放了幾位受訪者的採訪片段。
北京市民王女士義正言辭地表示：「體育就是體育，你跟政治掛什麼鈎啊！再說政治確實不是美國的標準，你說標準就是標準……」
"Sports are simply just sports; why should they be politicized? Moreover, the so-called 'democracy standards'are notset by the American government."
北京市民白先生說道：「冬奧會是全體冬季運動，冰雪運動愛好者的一個集會，這是一個運動精神上的事情……它搞一些政治挑釁，實在讓人覺得可笑。」
"The Winter Olympic Games are a fanfare for all the winter sports-lovers, and it's about sport spirit. Using it as an excuse for political manipulation is quite hilarious."
北京市民劉女士則表示：「作為北京本地居民，還是會像08年那樣，來者都是客。運動員來了，他們付出汗水。北京和中國居民還是會以友善的態度去支持他們。」
"As a native Beijing resident, I'll treat guests from all over the world just like in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Those athletes toiled through difficulties for the competition and all the Chinese people will support them in a kind manner."
視頻播出後，大量網友點讚北京市民落落大方的態度，同時建議BBC在其國際頻道播發。
Excellent view points articulated by people of Beijing. I am surprised BBC China airs it. Would they air it, with subtitles in BBC World News? I doubt it.
北京市民的觀點非常犀利。BBC中文頻道竟然播出了，讓我很吃驚，但我懷疑他們能否加上字幕播發到BBC國際新聞頻道。
近日，第10屆奧林匹克峰會發表公告，對任何將奧運會和體育運動「政治化」的行為表示堅決反對，並且強調了國際奧委會、奧運會以及整個奧林匹克運動保持政治中立的重要性。
The 10th Olympic Summit firmly stood behind the International Olympic Committee, supporting its stance against any politicization of the Olympic Games and sport. The summit "strongly emphasized the need for the political neutrality of the IOC, the Olympic Games and the entire Olympic Movement".外交部發言人汪文斌在13日例行記者會上強調，個別國家站在國際社會對立面，利用北京冬奧會搞政治作秀和政治操弄不得人心，也絕不會得逞。
