Shanghai Health Commission reported a total of 0 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and 0 local asymptomatic casesthis morning, Wednesday, August 24.
It is the first time no cases have been reported in two weeks, since Wednesday, August 10.
Good news.
International students can now return to China...
China’s border restrictions – introduced as a result of COVID-19 – have left international students trapped outside of the country, unable to return to university to pursue their studies.
Is China finally re-opening the door to international students?
Yes. For students from certain countries at least– some Chinese embassies are now allowing international students to apply to study in China.

Macao opens up to foreigners...
Foreigners who reside on the Chinese mainland can now visit China’s Macao Special Administrative Region, without the need for prior authorization from the Region’s health authorities.
Travelers can also return to most places on the Chinese mainland from Macao quarantine-free.
As of August 8, those returning to Shanghai must undergo two tests within three days of arrival.
That said, always check the specific rules of your destination before traveling.
