The high‐resolution Mn 2p profile could be fitted within
an appropriate principle at 640.9 eV (2p3/2) and 652.6 eV
(2p1/2) which was ascribed to the binding energy of Mn2+.
The peaks located at 645.3 eV (2p3/2) and 658.1 eV (2p1/2)
indicated the presence of Mn4+(

2018;12(12):12902‐12911.).The narrowly scanned
XPS spectrum of P 2p was fitted to double peaks, that is,
132.8 and 131.8 eV, which were in line with P 2p3/2 and
P 2p1/2, respectively. There was only a pair of peaks at
162.3 eV (2p3/2) and 163.5 eV (2p1/2)16,21 for the S 2p in
Figure 1F, indicating that only one form of S existed in
MnPS3. Meanwhile, observations from the scanning
transmission electron microscopy and energy‐dispersive
X‐ray spectroscopy in Figure 1G–J verified that the Mn, P,
and S elements were homogeneously distributed in the
sample.
