昨天(2月21日)是尼克松總統首次訪華50周年紀念日。1972年2月21日至28日,尼克松總統訪問了北京、杭州和上海,期間他與毛澤東主席會晤,並與周恩來總理簽署了《上海公報》。這是美國總統第一次訪問中華人民共和國,也是兩國關係正常化進程的開始。尼克松稱他的訪問為「改變世界的一周」。
Yesterday (Feb. 21) marked the 50th anniversary of President Nixon's first visit to China. From February 21 to 28, 1972, President Richard Nixon traveled to Beijing, Hangzhou, and Shanghai, during which he met Chairman Mao Zedong and signed the Shanghai Communiqué with Premier Zhou Enlai. This marked the first time a U.S. president visited the People’s Republic of China and started the process of normalizing bilateral relations. Nixon dubbed his visit 「the week that changed the world.」
