特刊主題介紹：
根尖牙周炎是由根管空間的多微生物生物膜感染引起的口腔疾病。儘管多年來整體的牙髓治療效果有所改善，但牙髓治療後疾病的發生率仍保持在10-15%。提高對控制根管感染新技術的認識，有助於加強臨床實踐，改善治療效果。本特刊研究主題對一系列研究感興趣，從基礎科學和轉化科學到專注於下一代抗菌技術和材料的臨床研究。這特別包括納米顆粒、抗菌肽、多聲波和激光輔助灌溉技術。特別要求收集初級數據，包括對根尖周骨癒合和抗菌應激後微生物組組成和/或功能的變化進行定性分析。加強對下一代抗菌藥物根管消毒的理解，將有助於制定針對違規特徵的個性化治療干預措施，並最終改善未來的患者護理。

The proposed research topic will integrate knowledge from basic science, translational and clinical research to:
Explore the mode of action of nanoparticles and antimicrobial peptides and their application in endodontics.
Identify the effect of organic inactivators on the antimicrobial activity of sodium hypochlorite, calcium hydroxide and other therapeutic agents.
Describe the clinical application and explore clinical outcomes of new technologies already present in the market such as lasers and multi-sonic irrigation.
Descriptionof thetopicsto be covered in the article collection: mode of action of nanoparticles and antimicrobial peptides, management of endodontic infections using non-conventional antimicrobial techniques (case series), microbiology of endodontic failures.
