What is Klein Blue?

要說克萊因藍，就要從一個法國男人 Yves Klein說起，他可是法國新現實主義的領軍人。

Born in 1928, Yves Klein was a French artist and the leading member of the French artistic movement called Nouveau Réalisme.

Klein was a forerunner of minimal art and pop art，也是極簡主義藝術和波普藝術的先驅。

Yves Klein is particularly famous for one thing, of his International Klein Blue (IKB).

Yves Klein可謂是克萊因藍背後的男人了，IKB就是以他的名字命名的。

Back in the 50s, Klein wanted to create a blue thatrepresented his artistry, so he and a chemist found the perfect combination of ingredients to create a deep blue that demands attention.

喜歡單色，尤其是藍色的Yves Klein想創造一種特別的藍色，要吸睛還要很純的深藍。

Before Klein blue, there was nosuch pure and strong blue,so it was also known as "ideal blue" and "absolute blue"!

因此也被叫做【絕對的藍】和【理想的藍】。

In 1957, Klein exhibited eight paintings of the same size and painted in the same Klein blue at the Milan Art Exhibition.

This was the first time that "Klein Blue" appeared in front of the world.

In May 1960, Klein registered the paint formula under the name International Klein Blue (IKB).

Klein’s inspiration for his famous blue is linked with his pursued of monochromatic work.
