peasant & farmer：本組詞都指「農夫」。

peasant/ˈpeznt/：住在鄉下的小農或鄉下耕作土地的勞動者。所描寫的對象受教育程度較低，社會地位也比farmer低。

e.g. the alliance of the workers and peasants 工農聯盟

farmer /ˈfɑːrmər/：原指自置農場而後又經營農場的人。在現代英語中，指以耕作為目的而租借土地的人。不論是租地者，還是土地所有者，只要他耕作農場，即可被稱為farmer。在

美國，農民被統稱為farmer，而不用peasant一詞。另外，與peasant相比, 本詞的規模更大、技術更高、更先進、更現代化。

*一般來講，farmer指發達國家裡干農活的人或擁有農場的人，而peasant指不發達國家裡在小塊田地里幹活的鄉下人。

vice & associate & deputy：本組詞都指"副的，協助別人幹事的"。

vice /vaɪs/：為前綴，系副的。常放在職位或官銜的前面。使用範圍比deputy稍廣，在對有明確分工的副職用英文表達時，多用本詞。

associate /əˈsoʊsieɪt/ ：系合夥的。常與professor搭配。

deputy /ˈdepjuti/ ：系代理的。指職位低於正職負責人的領導人，但能在該負責人缺席時代理其工作，行使其權力。表示處理日常事務的，常見於副首相(deputy prime minister)、副署長(deputy commissioner )、副總參謀長(deputy chief of general staff )

umbrella & parasol & sunshade：本組詞都指「傘」。

umbrella /ʌmˈbrelə/：系雨傘。有時也用於比喻的情況。

e.g. the country cannot avoid being under the nuclear umbrella, whether it wants to or not.不管願不願意，該國都免不了要處於核保護傘之下。

parasol /ˈpærəsɔːl/：太陽傘。

e.g. Carrie bought a parasol about five feet long.

卡麗買了一把約五英尺長的陽傘。

sunshade /ˈsʌnʃeɪd/：和parasol詞義相近，但 parasol現在已漸少用，而多用本詞, 而且本詞也可以指櫥窗等的遮陽（sun） 篷（shade ）。

treason & sedition ：本組詞都指「謀反」。

treason /ˈtriːzn/ ：系叛國。指公開背叛國家和政府的行為。強調的是明顯的行為。其目的是用暴力推翻政府、殺死君主。

e.g. She was tried for high treason.

她以叛國罪受審。

Deliberately broadcasting enemy propaganda to our troops is treason.

故意向我軍廣播敵人的宣傳是叛國行為。

sedition /sɪˈdɪʃn/：系煽動叛亂。指煽動叛亂的言論或行動，但還沒達到公開和全面的反叛程度。是謀反的前奏，其義比treason弱。

e.g. a speech abounding in sedition富有煽動謀反的演說

They were charged with sedition.

他們被指控煽動叛亂。
